Balance Pods - A Unique Balance Training Product
It’s about six inches in diameter, flat on one side with small, round rubber knobs on the other side. What is it? Well it acts a little like a massage product as well as a unique balance training tool. It’s call a Balance Pod. Balance Pods work the lower leg, help increase your agility and strengthen the core. Here are a few exercises you can try with this amazing powerhouse fitness training product.
Spread the pods across the floor in a random pattern, close enough to each other that would make it easy for you to step from one to another. Lie the pods flat side down. As you step on the pods make sure you slightly bend your knees. Mix up your steps so not to repeat the pattern.
Now take one pod, place it in the center with the flat side up. Take four other pods and place them around the center pod flat side down. This exercise creates more of a challenge. Step from the center pod to one of the other four pods. Now mix up where you step but always step back to the pod with flat side up. You can step laterally, forward or back. Remember to engage your abdominal muscles.
Next place the pods in a straight row about a foot apart from each other. Starting at one end, raise your arms out to the sides and walk across the pods as if you were walking on a tightrope. Once you feel comfortable with this balance exercise, try holding in place on a pod with just one leg for as long as you can.
